the interior picture remains the same
a virtual flat line punctuated by
minor interruptions of such inconsequence whilst
duly noted: trite
grab at one then another
catching what remains
the tail end of movement
slides through hands
blinds the eyes
paralyzes thoughts
rendering them numb
medicated
so stuck between the crushing
walls of anxiety and survival
they feel nothing
